State coed track & field meet results – Thursday

The Greene County Rams have at least three events in the finals of the state coed track and field meet Saturday.

Senior Roman Phillips finished first in his heat in the 100 meter dash with a time of :10.99, Second place was Dylan Kilany of South Tama County with a time of :11.03. The finals of the boys 3A 100 meter dash will be Saturday at 12:25 pm.

Phillips returned to the track later in the day for the preliminaries in the 200 meter dash and placed second with a time of :22.04. First in the heat was junior Connor Ham of Solon with a time of :21.78. The finals of the boys 3A 200 meter dash will be Saturday at 1:35 pm.

The girls 4 X 100 shuttle hurdle relay team will move to the finals with a third place finish in the preliminaries. Comprised of junior Eme Johnson, freshman Nadia Fisher, junior Sarah Sandage and senior Kate Sandage, the team’s time was 1:06.62. Fastest time for the day was Mount Pleasant’s time of 1:03.39. The finals of the girls 3A shuttle hurdle relay will be Saturday at 11:10 am.

Senior Allison Higgins finished 12th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:13.13. The winning time of 9:59.31 was posted by Gilbert’s Grace Gibbons. Higgins’ season best time was 11:11.97.

Junior Hannah Onken placed 9th in the discus with a best distance of 112′ 1″ on her third throw. Her first two throws were 110′ 4″ and 110′ 2″. The winning distance was 141′ 6″ thrown by Maddie Nilles of Wahlert (Dubuque).

Junior Alex Rasmussen placed 17th in the discus with his second throw at a distance of 137 feet. He fouled on his first and third throws. State 3A champion is Seth Snitker of Waukon with a throw of 175′ 6″.

Sophomore Max Neese placed 21st in the 200 meter dash with a time of :23.63.

Freshman Nadia Fisher placed 14th in the high jump with a jump of 4′ 10″. Her season-best was 5′ 2″. MOC-FV senior Alexis Conaway set a new 3A state record of 5′ 7-1/2″ in winning the event.

Freshman Olivia Hansen finished 17th in the 200 meter dash with a time of :26.89. The winning time was :25.12 by senior Olivia Noy of Anamosa.  Hansen and Noy both returned for the 400 meter run and Noy won that race in a time of :56.05. Hansen placed 12th with a time of :59.88. Hansen topped her season best times in both races. Her previous season best times were :27.25 in the 200 meters and 1:00.88 in the 400 meters.

Friday’s schedule for the Rams includes finals in the girls 400 meter hurdles and the boys 4 X 200 relay and shot put, as well as prelims in the girls 100 meter hurdles and 4 X 400 relay, and the boys 4 X 100 meter relay.
